From 1985 through 1992, WWE fans turned to NBC (and then Fox) for some of the biggest matches of the year. While WWE''s syndicated programming displayed WWE Superstars easily dispatching overmatched opponents, fans had to turn to PPV events for the settling of major scores - until SNME. For the first time since the 1950s, professional wresting returned to network television and scored huge ratings.

Review: This is one of the best DVDs WWE has ever released as there were so many classic matches and angles on SNME.

Review: This is an impressive collection that takes us back to 1985. The focus of the old school event was to put top superstars against one another and this dvd holds some of the best. The best part is that the collection is mostly about the early days rather than the new stuff. WWE had done well this time!

Review: I absolutely LOVED this dvd. I watched it from beginning to end 9 hrs straight. Some of the best matches ever were on SNME. The only thing though, it would've been better with some of the original SNME theme music. Also, wish there were more matches from the junkyard dog.

Review: www.wrestlingupdateonline.comIt was a monthly tradition. Once a month, you would stay up late on a Saturday night and at 1135, you would turn on NBC to watch Saturday Night’s Main Event. Then, if you were like me, you would get yelled at the next day for sleeping during church because you stayed up late. But no matter how many times you would get yelled at, it was worth it because the action you saw on those monthly programs were nothing like anything else on free TV.Fans can now relive that

Review: I believe that Saturday Night's Main Event started in 1983.Because i was 13 yrs old when SNME began and that first match i saw with Hulk Hogan against Randy Orton's dad Cowboy Bob ORton. If only Rko wrestled back in the day with those guys loike macho man and Hogan .You would last 15 minutes with those guys. They would have to help him along.

Review: It's about time you guys released a DVD on SNME. I have so many episodes on tape from the 80's and can't wait to see this DVD. The match listing for this DVD is spectacular and it's nice to see that Hogan and Savage pretty much run the DVD, especially since we need a Macho Man DVD, but why is Demolition vs. Brain Busters from 789 not on here? That was not only a good match, but it's also where Demolition's historic 16 month long Tag Title reign was ended. Anyway aside from that the rest

Review: i don't understand why we not have matches only from old school saturday night main events. having john cena on the cover implies that there are matches with him up there, which ruins the whole dvd set.

Review: This is what it needs to be. Paying tribute to the show that ushered in late night wrestling in the 80s and made it possible for Monday Night RAW. The WWE Universe, especially the younger fans need this education of where the WWE began to expand during that time. Im proud to have seen the very first Saturday Night's Main Event and glad to be a member of the WWE Universe!!!!

Review: NICE DVD, ONLY COMPLAINT. THE ONLY TWO GREAT THINGS ABOUT JOHN CENA IS HIS ENTRANCE AND HIS FINSHER. THEY DONT SHOW HIS ENTRANCE OR OLD SCHOOL HBK ENTRANCE. I WOULD LIKE SEE WARRIOR WITH THE BELT LIKE THEY SHOW IN THE MENU.
